Dan has 30 years of experience working in the NGO community, 25 of them in the field of information technology. He joined Save the Children in 1982 in Palestine and moved to Catholic Relief Services in 1984 as a Mother Child Health (MCH) project manager. He moved to the CRS Headquarters in Baltimore in 1989 where he has worked since. In 1994 Dan was responsible for the design and implementation of an agency-wide field logistics software. This was deployed in 100 offices by several NGO’s and is still in use today. He was one of the founding members of Nethope in 2000 and was one of the early adopters of the Microsoft cloud technologies (BPOS). Dan now manages the CRS Core infrastructure services. Some of his recent initiatives include a project to standardize field office network systems using a Cisco-based system, a global end user device management system using VMware/Airwatch technology, a cloud-based phone system for all of the US offices and Office 365. Prior to joining CRS, Dan was vice president of a mail/print business and taught elementary school. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Education. He also holds Masters degrees in English and Business Management as well as several ITIL and technical certifications.
