2. Expanding affordable Internet into rural areas of developing countries

3. Learn from the insights and experiences of others and explore possible intersecting interests of NGO members and private high tech firms on exploring potential opportunities for expanding low-cost low-power affordable Internet into rural areas of low income countries via sustainable, scalable and replicable business, financial and technical models.

4. I have been working in this rural Internet space for nearly 25 years, mostly through USAID, but also with USTDA, the World Bank, thenU.S. state Department and most recently the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Yet today the digital divide between the least developed countries and other developed and developing countries continues to expand, with the socioeconomic ramifications of this divide having even greater adverse impact. I have and continue to be a passionate proponent for innovative change in this area, with a history of successes that demonstrate the potential for broader-scale success.
