Field Trip: Georgia Tech
Limited Capacity filling up

Join us for a 3-stop tour highlighting the exciting, innovative research currently underway at Georgia Tech.

At Couch Field, NetHope attendees will watch two different types of UAVs map fly mapping routes in the immediate area. Watch the UAVs take off, fly a pre-programmed course and then land. Learn how the data acquired during that flight is converted into useable mapping data.

In our Centergy Building, NetHope attendees will be able to see Georgia Tech latest research developments in disaster relief and humanitarian systems and logistics. They will be also able to explore socially-engaged design practices, civic media and the ways in which mobile and social computing impact civic engagement. As a bonus, Georgia Tech students from Computing for Good, Data Science for Social Good, and Serve-Learn-Sustain programs will showcase their projects.

At our Technology Square Research Building, NetHope attendees will discover the newest in augmented reality and wearable technology research, including electronic textiles and wearable technologies for service dogs. Come to see what the future will bring in terms of wearable gadgets and talk to wearable tech pioneer and the mastermind behind Google Glass, Thad Starner, among other word-renowned experts.
